Location: 2605 Gold Coast Highway & 16 Mermaid Avenue, Mermaid Beach, QLD 4218
The 3,783 m2 site is situated on the beach side at 2605 Gold Coast Highway on the corner of Mermaid Ave in Mermaid Beach. It is directly opposite the east entrance to the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and is less than 400m to Broadbeach. The site is in close proximity to Jupiters Casino and Broadbeach Mall in a superior retail precinct and is right adjacent to the Gold Coast light rail station.
Development Potential
The site is within both the 'Residential' precinct and 'Highway Tourism' precinct with no limit on building height. It is intended to cater high density residential land uses, low impact tourist residential uses and a range of low intensity commercial uses to meet the needs of local residents.
The company has lodged a draft DA with the Gold Coast City Council (See attachment) at the end of August 2015 and the approval process may take approximately eight months. The initial development plan is to yield two towers of 50 and 43 levels respectively, for a total of 409 residential units and 3700 m2 mixed space for retail and commercial uses.
