The Merivale site with a total land area of 2,733 m2 was acquired by Sunshine Investments in 2010 – 2011. It is superbly located in South Brisbane where the area is transforming into a vibrant mixed use precinct due to the Brisbane City Council’s Urban Renewal program. It is in close proximity to the CBD, key public transport, Melbourne Street and the Victoria Bridge of Queen Street Mall in the centre of Brisbane CBD.
Development Potential
The property provides substantial potential for developers and was sold to KPG Capital and Abacus Property Group in 2015.
The current development proposal is to construct two 30-storey residential towers (IVY&EVE) by stages with a total of 486 units (256 units for Stage 1 and 230 units for Stage 2). There will be a 5-storey podium for retail businesses and car parks. The construction of stage 1 commenced in October 2015 and is expected to complete by November 2017.
